Four Freedoms

Project: Exhibition Design

Client: Mississippi Museum of Art

Exhibition on view beginning April 9, 2022

Four Freedoms is an exhibition of four large paintings from 1959 by Mildred Nungester Wolfe (1912–2009). Each work focuses on a freedom from President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1941 speech “Four Freedoms”: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. Symmetry’s design for the small gallery space is meant to evoke a sacred space, with the paintings alluding to stained glass.
