Piercing the Inner Wall: The Art of Dusti Bongé

Symmetry developed branding for MMA’s presentation of Piercing the Inner Wall and designed the exhibition, including floor plan, artwork placement, and all graphics. Branding drew inspiration from mid-century gallery advertisements, and the artwork itself. The exhibition’s bold entrance introduced Bongé’s aesthetic through colors and shapes inspired by her artwork. Those same graphic elements were used sparingly in the exhibition proper to denote thematic sections while warm white paint throughout the galleries created a cohesive look that visually centered the artwork. The traveling exhibition was curated by Bradley Sumrall and organized by the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.
